The two machine-readable lines are an international standard, so document number, dates of birth and expiry and nationality are read regardless of country. Turkish passports keep Turkish letters in the name.

Supported documents
Passports, ID cards and licences with one button.
Documents printed in the Latin alphabet are read. For other layouts or Cyrillic/Arabic documents you fill in the fields by hand; the photo is still added to the customer's documents.
ID cards
For Turkish and Northern Cyprus IDs, the machine-readable back and the front for the correctly spelled name; most EU ID cards and fronts with English labels.
Driving licences
Northern Cyprus licences plus licences from Türkiye, EU countries, the UK and other countries using the numbered-field layout. The Turkish ID number is also taken from Turkish licences.
Verification with check digits
Information whose machine-readable check digits match, or that reads the same on two documents, is marked green “Verified”; single-source values are marked grey or orange.
Duplicate matching
If an ID/passport or licence number matches a saved person, you are warned. For a saved customer only empty fields are filled; filled fields are left untouched.
Photos go to the customer file
Scanned photos are added automatically to the person's documents as passport, ID card or driving licence, open only to authorised roles.
Three steps
Create the customer without leaving the reservation.
The fill-from-document button sits under the customer field in the reservation form, in the “driver is a different person” box and at the top of the customer form.
Take photos
Add up to 4 photos with the phone camera or from a file; rotate if needed and press Read.
Check
Read fields appear with badges on a check form. If documents show different names, you pick the right one from a list.
Create the customer
In a reservation, Create customer saves and selects the record; in the customer form, Fill form only fills the fields.
Document photos never leave your device for reading.
Reading runs in the browser on your device; the reading files (about 10 MB) are downloaded once on first use. Identity images are deleted automatically by the system five years after the customer's last rental ends.
